Newsflash - Tea and Talk go Hand in Hand!
In January, we commissioned a survey to look into the tea-drinking habits of the nation. And we came up with some very interesting results. We all know the Irish are famous tea-lovers but would you believe that a staggering 86% of Irish people are tea drinkers?
Here are some of the other things we discovered about Ireland's love of tea & talking:
- 97% of Irish tea drinkers enjoy a cuppa at home, while over half of full time workers (51%) drink tea at work.
- The top 3 topics of conversation over a cup of tea are: family, gossip and boring old work!
- Perhaps not surprisingly, Cork people are thought to be the biggest talkers of the nation, followed by the Dubs!
- Females are more likely to talk about family, gossip, TV programmes and their problems, while men, unsurprisingly were more likely to talk about football, GAA and rugby.
- One in 10 people would meet Barack Obama if they could choose one person in the world to have tea with, and another 10% would be happy just to choose a member of their own family!
